Barret Wallace tensed his muscles to the extreme, doing his best not to erupt like an active volcano, even though the blood within his veins was rapidly turning to lava. He couldn't believe what he was seeing and hearing. Was he dealing with some wreckless, braindead children or what?!

"WHAT THE $*&# IS WRONG WITH YOU!?!?!?!" the large man bellowed, his large fists raised above his head for emphasis.

Like a good little girl, Marlene hummed to herself as if nothing was amiss...

He glared at the original terrorists that had proposed the idea of a resistance crew in disgust, "Do you not realize these two can be God damned spys?! Do you have any idea what the *&#@ you be dealin' with when talkin' about movin' 'gainst ShinRa!? There's an enemy at every God damned turn--you never know whom ya can trust!" He stomped away from the door and approached Jessie's side, his form menacing enough to where it appeared he had grown another foot in height, "If you got the skills..." he whispered to the female with a hiss, "...look up their backgrounds and see if they got anything relatin' to ShinRa. Until then, I'll be keepin' a close eye on 'em both, an' I expect you ta do the same..." He glanced over the faces within the bar and motioned to say something further, but for once bit his tongue and stalked to the counter where Marlene waited with her arms wide open.

Jessie shrugged and picked up her ECD. Typing furiously on a keyboard no larger than her palm, she soon had Shin-Ra's company websever, "ShinraNet," cued on the tiny screen. "Okay, I can do background checks..." she trailed off and paled.

"Biggs. Jack Shin-Ra was assassinated last night."

All he could do was turn and stare at his friend for a few seconds. "You're kidding me..." It was plain shock that was present in his features at that moment, as much as he tried not to look completely flabbergasted.

"Guess that's one step in the right direction, and we've only just started." He would have complied a grin with that if he wasn't still reeling from the information.

"But yeah, um, Biggs. That's me." He glanced around to the rest of the crowd. It was himself, Jessie, Tifa, Chris, and the big guy and ninja girl he didn't have names for yet...

Barret's blow-up was understandable. Tifa had assumed that they wouldn't have spoken of revolution around anyone who wasn't trustworthy. Perhaps she should've waited for confirmation before treating the other like allies. Luckily, it seemed as though Jessie would be able to give them what they needed to trust these people as allies.

It hit the bar hostess hard when Jessie delivered the news about Jack Shinra's death to them. Her eyes widened in shock, and she actually dropped the empty glass she'd been wiping out, causing the it to shatter into dozens of shards. Who... who could have assassinated Jack Shinra?

"The President is dead?" she finally managed. Certainly, it was good that the tyrant who had ruled over them for so longer was no longer around, but to think about what could've possibly infiltrated Shinra unseen was really terrifying. "Who-who could manage something like that?"

The girl felt all eyes locked on her as she fiddled with the little device. Finally, she had enough to answer some basic questions that she knew they would have. "The reports are conflicting...I've got some posts from Turks and other high-level officials that suggest a set-up, but all seem to agree on these facts: a demon entered the building, calling for his brother. He then slaughtered scientists in the research department, and progressed upwards until he came to the Presidential office and killed the President. The official statement from the Company says that the body has already been dealt with, and power has been transferred to the Vice President." Jessie shook her head. "That means that Shin-Ra's kid is now the one in charge. I wonder how this bodes for our little revolution..."

Chris pursed his lips and made an interested noise in the back of his throat. "The old guy got offed, did he?" The police officer leaned over Jessie's shoulder, reading what was on the ECD screen. "Hmm... and no evidence of the killer was left?"

Chris stood back upright and began pacing about the bar. "Now this? This sounds fishy to me." The expression on his face was one of dire seriousness, the look that said quite clearly that bad shit was about to go down. "No evidence of how the guy got in there in the first place, no evidence of him leaving, and then there's the matter of a dead President with a kid who hated his guts."

The STARS member stopped his pacing and crossed his arms. "Call me crazy, but that sounds like a hit." He looked sideways at Barret. "Somebody wanted this guy dead," he told the larger man. "And it sounds like his kid had the means and the motive to do it."

A can of bittersweet news, Barret thought, as the initial shock wore off inside him, yet the news hadn't completely hit him just yet. This as much a good as it was a bad thing in the mind of Mr. Wallace. One of their adversaries was completely out of the way, however, another that could be even more detrimental not only to their operation, but to the world, was now holding the reigns of the ShinRa Corporation.

Barret placed Marlene upon his lap as she attempted to braid the hanging strands of her hair in silence, knowing better not to interfere with the current discussion taking place. All she knew was this was the beginning to putting the 'bad people' in their place, and she trusted her father would take care of it all. She had no worries in her little mind. Only the persistant hunger that rumbled in her tummy.

"There ain't no real tellin' how this $#!% bodes for us," the large man stated roughly, yet there was now a certain gentleness to his tone. He hated ShinRa, hated the deceased President just as much, but the realization of his death was still coursing through him, "but what I do know is as long as ShinRa stands, no matter who operates it...there won't be no sleep for any of us." He glanced at the Chris and the other female before continuing. If they were serious, they wouldn't disagree with his next sentence, "I think we need to welcome the New President o' ShinRa with a 'bang'. Show 'em, his Presidency ain't gonna be an easy ride!"

Rufus Shin-Ra. That wasn't a name he had ever particularly liked. However, the thing he was more hung up on was the actual killer. "A demon, huh?" he asked, leaning against the bar counter as casually as he could, even though his head was buzzing with the news. "I don't know. That doesn't sound too good." What if they ran across this demon? He wasn't sure if they could stand up against someone like that. If it was true that Rufus had hired the demon to take out his old man, that meant said demon could easily be on Shin-Ra's side. Well, the "new" Shin-Ra.

The big guy's suggestion of blowing something up as a sort of declaration of their existance as a resistance was enough to cheer him up a bit. He smiled at the man and gave a nod. "I agree, big guy. Even if this was an intended death, the company is still going to be staggering in the aftermath. It's the perfect time to strike!" As he said this, he punched the palm of one hand with his other fist for emphasis.

"Not to mention they'll be busy getting the president inaugurated and all of that..." Yep! Made sense to him. Besides, explosives were fun.

Tifa wondered for a moment. Could he have..?

No, it was best not to think about those things. Nevermind that there was a demon in the wings willing to help them. She opted not to say anything about that at the moment, however. It would be best to have Barret meet with him when the time came before she spoke up on the matter.

The main issue right now was the death of the old President and the rise of his son to office. Sure, it was the perfect time to strike, but could they really pull something like that off so quickly? They'd just officially formed themselves.

"Would we be able to pull something like that off so soon?" she wondered aloud.

Jessie smiled wryly. "Tifa, I can pull together a couple plastic explosives from Crisco and toilet cleaner in two hours. Just ask Biggs! I perfected the formula after blowing up our FIRST hideout," she said, laughing. It was STILL funny.

"All joking aside, are we SURE we want to do this? The Shin-Ra kid's going to be inagurated in Junon. Do we hit the Company while he's away, or follow the Presidential Party?"

(OOC: Sorry for the lack of postage. In all honesty I was waiting for Chris to make one)

Barret was instantly irritated by the hesitation the women were portraying in their speeches. Surely, causing an uproar was risky, but that's what a resistance faction is all about. Taking risks at opportunistic times...like this one! And he currently couldn't think of a better time than...

"Now... is the time to strike, kids! If you be hesitatin' already, ya might wanna rethink ya stance." The large man stood then and began to pace the cramped expanse of the bar, his head bowed in thought, and for a moment cast a glance to Jessie, "Ya said ya can concoct some explosives? How much of a bang will they pack? I want somethin' powerful 'nough to knock at a reactor in one shot! We need ta show Shin-Ra the people ain't goin' take no more $#!% from any government!"

((Sorry for the delay! Busy with school life and all. But I'm back now!))

Chris nodded his head in assent. Now things were starting to pick up. "Hey, if we're gonna do this, we need to make the message a big one," he said. The former STARS member folded his arms on the bartop and looked at his new comrades. "I say we hit the place while the kid's in Junon." He shook his head in disbelief; when had he crossed the line into criminal territory?

"It'll show that we mean business. And that he shouldn't turn his back on us for a second." A smirk made its way onto his face. "We're a force to be reckoned with, so that's what we'll show them what we're all about!"
